Josiah, like many males in New Zealand, was too intimidated by the culture around masculinity to dare dance growing up, although he rarely missed his best friends performances. He was 20 years old when he first plucked up the courage to give it a try - in an effort to impress a girl. It was an important step in understanding the life of said unimpressed girl, whom he would later go on to marry. Josiah studied a Bachelor of Education, Specialising in Physical, Health & Outdoor Education, with his second major in Fine Arts. He also has a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning and a Post Graduate Diploma in Theology. Josiah is a local Minister and functions in a lecturer capacity with a focus on dancer wellbeing. He is married to Olivia Russell and has three delightful children Elisha, Ezekiel and Giselle.
